Thermo-Laminating Vacuum Press, membraneless operation for vinyl or PVC products; works infrared heat and vacuum.

Loading Tray:

An aluminum tray 51" x 105" is provided to carry the panels into the press. The tray is equipped with 1" high sides x 1.5" thick.  Inside dimensions of the tray are 46" x 100". An additional 1" of cavity space is provided by the membrane clamping system. The membrane clamp has all necessary valving to inject air between the membrane and the parts after the pressure cycle is completed. The tray is mounted on V groove wheels that carry the tray out onto a loading table. The tray is moved in and out manually. An additional tray is included in this system.

Pressure System:

The inflatable, high temperature membrane is attached to the bottom face of the upper beam. Maximum inflation pressure is 70 PSI.

All necessary valves, gauges, regulators and filters for the compressed air system are included. 

An inflatable pressure bag is located in the bottom frame between the 2-1/2" steel bolster and the frame. When inflated, the pressure bag lifts the bolster and the aluminum tray up against the upper frame. The top edge of the tray clamps against the upper frame. The top edge of the tray clamps against the membrane clamp and creates an airtight seal.

Vacuum System:

A vacuum system is fitted to the upper half of the press to draw the inflatable membrane up against the heated aluminum platen.

A second vacuum system is supplied through numerous holes drilled through the bottom surface of the tray and is used to evacuate the tray.

A 5 HP, 70 CFM vacuum pump and 120 gallon reservoir are included.

Controls:

A seperate control console provides atuomatic operation of the press. 

Console includes:

• Emergency stop pushbutton
• One OMRON Solid State digital temperature controller provides temperature control and indication of the membrane.
• TELEMECANIQUE programmable logic controller, and an XBT operator interface screen with function pushbuttons allows the operator to change the various press parameters.

Programmable logic controller provides:

• Proper sequencing of the press operations
• Rapid diagnostics for trouble shooting
• Safety interlocks, to protect the operator and the equipment.

Frame:

Top and bottom steel frames are connected by three steel arms on each side of the press (on 8' dimension).

Lower half of the press frame is equipped with an unheated steel bolster measuring 2-1/2" x 54" x 105-3/4".

The upper half of the press is equipped with an electrically heated aluminum platen, which is situated behind the inflatable membrane. The platen is controlled by an electronic proportioning controller for temperatures up to 350° F.

The press has on fixed daylight opening suitable for a 2" deep cavity.
